My first mix of 2020. Originally I was going for a low key, somber sentiment, one that reflected the cold grey months of winter but the tone changed. What I ended up with was a collection of songs that are philosophically tied: the inevitability and acceptance of death, striving to exist against adversity, continuing to love even after heartbreak and pain, and maybe a little Ecclesiastes flavored fatalism. You know, musical explorations of the human condition and all that being entails.The threads are loose and the connections might be tenuous but they’re there. I’m sure they’re there. I think they’re there. Wait, someone’s moved all the furniture around and the closet door’s open. What’s that on the floor? Blood?
