The Turkish Enfauser,This is a Turkish Enfauser, a combination of a Mauser and an Enfield. After World War I Turkey was in possession of many Enfield rifles that were captured from the British Army during the Eastern Campaigns. In the 1930’s they tried to refubish them and either issue them to the army or sell them off. The problem was that they were chambered for .303 caliber cartridges, while in Turkey the 8x57 Mauser cartridge was popular and used by the military. So they decided to created these Turkish Mauser/Enfield frankenrifles to use the parts off the enfield. The action and buttstock are from an enfield, while the receiver and barrel assembly are from a Turkish Mauser. -- source link
