@shredsandpatches that’s the struggle with something that has such morally gray characters/characters you don’t know what to think of. I didn’t say Hal was any better, as Hal he’s half the time a total douchebag (I will never forgive him for how he treated Ned in part 2). I said my favorite character was the one who is lawful stupid but pure-hearted. Even in Henry V, which I largely see as the conclusion of a redemption arc that spans multiple characters, he’s still morally gray at best, especially with setting up Williams and Fluellen. I go between wanting to forgive him and wanting to not (especially with history). So yeah, Hal is a jerk and dishonest. Which he in part probably learned from his father.…every time I break down Hal’s character I always decide Hotspur is better. -- source link
