Last week Celebrity Cruises announced that their oldest ship Celebrity Century had been sold to a Chinese travel agency. Celebrity Century debuted in 1995 as the first of three Century class ships. Since then her two sisters Galaxy and Mercury have been transferred to Royal Caribbean Cruises German brand as Mein Schiff 1 and 2 and have proven to be extremely successful. So this announcement of a sale to a different company came as a complete surprise to most due to the fact of her sister ships transfer and how most older Royal ships are transferred to Pullmanter , Royal Caribbean’s Spanish cruise line. Why was Celebrity Centruy sold? Many reasons could be the true answer. Royal Caribbean as a company has the money to build new ships for their other brands, in the end it might have cost too much money to transfer the ship , the list is endless. Looking to the future it seems Celebrity Cruises seems to be making room for possibly some new ships? Let hope because I for one would love to see new Celebrity Ships! -- source link
