@Regrann from @blackmattersus - Rekia Boyd, 22, was fatally shot in Chicago by a police detective Dante Servin who was drunk and off-duty. She was in a group of four walking down a narrow lane when Detective Servin stopped and shot her. Servin was charged with manslaughter, but he was later released from all charges and still maintains his job. His public hearing is scheduled on May 19. Members of the Black Lives Matter movement and #BYP100 (Black Youth Project 100) united with Assata’s daughters and some other groups, on Thursday March 17, and demanded justice for Boyd at the meeting which was held at the police headquarters in Bronzeville. Among the audience there were a lot of people who lost their relatives and friends due to police brutality.You know, in recent years, police violence has grown more than ever and government officials haven’t done anything to remedy this problem.
