storytellerknight:Thirty Days of Arthurian CharactersDay Twenty-Seven: Laudine1. Why you like or don’t like the characterI like Laudine. Here’s another character who doesn’t get enough attention and sorely deserves it. What does she think of Escaldos? What does she think about Yvain killing him? Why does she choose to marry Yvain? How does she feel about Yvain going back to court and totally forgetting about her after just a year? Why does she take him back after that? These are questions that no one has really seen fit to answer yet and I only have one question for them. Why not?2. Favorite characterization in novelsNo. Gerald Morris’ The Lioness and her Knight is the only book I’ve read where she appears and none of my questions are answered. She’s an interesting character, but the book is more Luneta’s story, not Laudine’s. 3. Favorite characterization in TV shows/moviesNo.4. Favorite art/illustration of the charaterI like this one by Howard Pyle. She looks so very haughty in this. I like haughty/arrogant Laudine. 5. An actor you wished could play the characterCobie Smulders6. One headcanon about the character She hates Yvain. Not necessarily for killing Esclados but for abandoning her for a year. She stays with him because it’s expected and because she enjoys the privileges of being his wife and having a relation to Arthur. But, as far as Yvain is concerned, she can’t stand him and she’ll never forgive him for leaving the way he did and forgetting about her. -- source link
