What the previous user described were the wrongdoings of some Muslims. So it isn’t Islam, it’s the Muslims that do it wrong. And not all Muslims, not even close. There are more than one BILLION Muslims on this planet, and only a very very very small minority are extremists. Does the Westboro Baptist Church represent all Christians? No. Then please do not let the actions of a few Muslims represent all of us. And please do not let it blind your viewpoint on Islam. In my opinion America has much to benefit from the immigration of Muslims. This idiotic argument again. Both Muslim “extremists” and the Westboro Baptist Church represent their own religion in its most purest form. They follow their religious book down to the letter. That is why they are a perfect example of their own religion and what it stands for. Think they’re disgusting? Then I suggest you take a closer look at your religion rather than trying to put them away with terms like “extremists”, because they represent the holy book you claim to be a follower of.Young Muslim men are taught by their religion that infidels should be converted to Islam or killed, that Muslims are Allah’s soldiers, that Allah wants them to fight for their religon and giving their life for it is the greatest honor, and that when they die, they will be rewarded in heaven with 72 virgins and eternal praise; and people wonder why there are suicide bombers. These people were not born extremists. Islam taught them these things.As for “it does not preach inequality between the sexes”:I’ve read many parts of the Quran. Most particularly the chapter about how to ‘handle’ women. There is no chapter on how to handle men, of course, because the Quran was written for men. I wrote down some statements from the Quran then and saved them. The Quran states that “men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made one better than the other. […] Good women are therefore those who are obedient. And those of whom you fear disobedience, admonish her and send her to her bed alone and beat her.” It also says that “your wives are a tilth for you - so go [in[to your tilth as you please”, and it talks about how women are unclean during their menstruation and shouldn’t be touched, “but when they have cleansed themselves, go into them as Allah has commanded you.”But sure, it doesn’t preach inequality between the sexes, except where it’s literally stated Allah put men above and in charge of women, and that he commands them to beat and rape their wives as they please.Yeah, Islam is a beautiful religion. -- source link
