Banded Tree Snail (Orthalicus floridensis)The Banded Tree Snail is a protected tree snail from South Florida in the United States. It lives in habitats called hammocks which are elevated places where groups of hardwood trees grow. These areas are often like little islands surrounded by an ocean of contrasting habitat (such as marshland). The Banded Tree Snail likes smooth-barked trees and leaves the trees to lay its eggs in leaf litter on the forest floor. Its diet probably consists of lichen and other fungi that grows on the tree bark.Etsy | DeviantArt | Instagram -- source link
