Bringing together 59 artists from 27 countries, including 15 new site-specific installations commissioned by @NEONgreece, “PORTALS” is a contemporary group exhibition inaugurating a new cultural hub inside the former Public Tobacco Factory, an iconic interwar building in the heart of #Athens which has been renovated by NEON in collaboration with the Hellenic Parliament under whose purview the building falls. The exhibition pays homage to the former factory’s storied history, which goes hand in hand with the country’s socio-political trajectory over the course of the 20th century, as well looks to the future by considering the pandemic as a portal to a possible new normal. . . “Now what’s going to happen to us without barbarians?
