MutazioneGames Completed in 2021: 1/12I decided to make a positive resolution for myself for 2021 to complete games that I’ve started and loved but haven’t completed. Which, if I’m being fully honest, is most of them. My records on Steam say I’ve played every single game I have there for just one hour. I thought a push to complete twelve in twelve months might be fun and good motivation to actually experience these games fully.I started the year with Mutazione, a game I picked up around this time last year and loved the art style (nice muted palette) and general atmosphere of the game. Once I picked it back up, I fell completely in love with it! It felt like this wonderful little world I could visit every day or so. It’s described as a soap opera with mutants, so what’s not to like, right? It’s focused heavily on characters and narrative, so very much my jam. It’s also very gentle and feel-good, though it does touch on heavier topics at times. There are so many characters to love here.I don’t want to give too much away, but Mutazione is a wonderful setting, with a time mechanic that cycles through early morning to late night as different interactions take place to trigger the passage of time. Everything looks beautiful in the different lighting for different times of day. The sound and music are also really great. There’s a band. Oh, and gardening! The puzzles in this game are based around creating gardens. It doesn’t bog down the story at all, but is a fun little diversion every so often. You can play with them on their own from the main menu, too.I’d recommend this one highly. If you like Strangetown, I think you’ll enjoy visiting Mutazione, too. -- source link
