I am pretty sure that I am speaking the same English language as you are.My coworker said this to me recently while we were on our shift. He said this to try to be funny, but as you can tell from my face, I was not amused. A similar incident happened to me in 5th grade. Hearing something like this from a fellow classmate at 10 years old made me embarrassed and ashamed to be Asian at all. I was afraid of being laughed at so I hid from my friends and classmates when I had to speak to my parents in my native tongue. It has been almost 10 years since that incident. I have grown to be proud of my Asian American identity and I no longer take this kind of ignorance from anybody.” -- source link
