A compilation of my Mathis and Odette arts, two of my ESO characters. For those who aren’t familiar, a long story under the cutDr. Mathis Galanox is a former member of a Vaermina cult, the Supernal Dreamers, who was raised into it from childhood by his parents. In his twenties (the pictures where he had longer hair), he fled the cult and made a deal with a witch to “save” his soul from Vaermina: if she would curse him with lycanthropy his soul would belong to Hircine and Vaermina couldn’t capture and torture him when he died. In exchange for this salvation, he would owe the witch any one favor she asked, whenever she asked it. Years later, having made a modest fortune working for the Dark Brotherhood to get on his feet after leaving the cult, he’s living life as a successful doctor in Alinor, his lycanthropy a well kept secret. One day, the old witch showed up on his doorstep with five children in tow, the children of his former compatriots in the Supernal Dreamers, and called in that favor: that Mathis should raise the children as his own and give them a good home.As for Odette: Joslin Odette Ysenne Edwina Moile was once a cousin to the royal Moile family of Evermore, some dozenth in line for the throne, and kept in a gilded cage. Her passion was the arcane, history, philosophy, and the sciences, which she studied a great deal and proved to be an unsung genius of her time, a Renaissance woman if ever there was one. Unfortunately her intellect was considered a burden, her achievements overlooked, and her interests suppressed by a noble family who simply expected her to look pretty and play the harp and read poetry well enough to enamor noble suitors without intimidating them intellectually, so that she could marry well and have well-born children. But one night, one suitor approached Joslin with an offer that would change her life… and end it.Joslin took sick over the following days and eventually died, to be interred in the family tomb with much weeping and carrying on. That night, “Odette Renaud” emerged from the tomb, unseen, and began her unlife as a vampire, free to pursue her interests to her heart’s content: travelling across Tamriel studying the sciences and maths, digging up lost antiquities on archaeological digs to return them to their home cultures, practicing the arcane – especially necromancy – and in general being the nerd she was always meant to be.She and Dr. Galanox are friends-with-benefits, though perhaps there’s more to their relationship than either will admit. -- source link
