tharook:Okay guys, here goes:Character inspiration:Johann Krauss [Mike Mignola]Various elastic superheroes.Purple jellySuit/visual inspiration:Quairans [artwork]Mandalorian armour [modelled above by Shae Vizla]In a universe where this kind of shit happens (like 616), a freak lab accident involving genetic modification and biopolymers, she found herself reduced to a large mass of sentient, mobile, purple goo. As you do. Understandably, she doesn’t really enjoy being goo so she’s currently trying to find a way to reverse the process, thought without much success. In the meantime, her friends are encouraging her to make the most of it, and she has begun moonlighting as a vigilante. As you do.Whilst she is mobile, resolving herself into anything evenly remotely humanoid is incredibly difficult and requires constant concentration. To help overcome this difficulty, one of her friends (an inventor on par with Tony Stark) built her a series of semi-rigid suits to assist her in appearing human. There’s little practical advantage to doing so, but it is very important to her emotionally to appear as humanoid as she possibly can.Her current suit comprised of rigid metal and ceramic plates (dark, metallic greys) over a moulded, flexible suit (matte black), shaped to mimic her old body as much as possible. The actual result is a fairly average female form. As her volume is considerably greater than an average human’s, two SCUBA-tank-like canisters on her back hold the excess. They contain computers and machinery to hold the pressure inside her suit constant, helping her in filling it out and moving effectively within it. A thin window on the side of each shows the goo within and, from the position of the mechanism, a rough indication of the volume/pressure within the suit. The head piece includes a clear plastic window through which she can see. Technically she can “see” using all of her “skin”, but she says she finds it bewildering and distressing. A valve on top of each canister allows her to extend her body outside of the suit when desired, typically forming tentacles with which to fight evil doers (somewhat in the manner of a displacer beast). She can control the systems in her suit through a touchscreen on her left wrist, which also displays various readouts, such as internal pressure, integrity and temperature. This device also contains a text-to-speech synthesiser, since she is unable to produce more than simple tones naturally. She uses it as little as possible. She appears to be functionally immortal, able to restore any lost mass through digestion of organic materials. The suit, however, is vulnerable and if breached she will begin to ooze out (or else lose pressure within). As such, she carries several vials of sealant to repair it if needed. As it is, the suit is covered in nicks and dents over the rigid plates, though the undersuit is replaced fairly frequently. Whilst she is typically amorphous, the entirety of her gelatinous body functions as muscle mass, and so she possesses above-average strength. Mostly, though, her key strength is her intellect. Her natural colouring is purple, though the exact hue changes subtly depending on her mood (redder is she’s angry, for example) and what she’s eaten. When talking to others, she usually forms two spheres of denser jelly within her helmet to vaguely mimic eyes. The core of her character (that is, not her as a person) is her humanity, and her desire to restore it. She is torn between this drive and a feeling of moral obligation to help others. Lack of success in finding ways to reverse her transformation, as well as the realisation that time is on her side, mean that she is spending more and more of her time as a “superhero”. At the same time, though, she is becoming more and more withdrawn from others, and even her friends. But yeah, if anyone feels like drawing her than would be frakking awesome. Otherwise, any comments and opinions are definitely appreciated.oh man i still need to draw this character/get her out into some form of creative medium somehow. -- source link
