Acacia glaucopteraPlants with a milky blue-green color are referred to as “glaucous”, and when you combine this with “ptera”, meaning wing, you have an apt description of this small shrub (to 3 feet tall or so, or 1 m). The new foliage is tinged bronzy red, and the little yellow flowers add to the festive atmosphere when they emerge in late winter. Acacias belong to the Pea Family (in the subfamily Mimosoideae), and there are many species native to Australia. Acacia glaucoptera comes from the southwestern corner of the country.-Brian -- source link
