veggeologist:Myrmekitic textureAn intergrowth texture created when plagioclase feldspar and quartz grow simultaneously. This texture occurs in the late stages of formation of igneous rocks and are also associated with metasomatic conditions (i.e. chemical alteration by hydrothermal fluids). This texture gets it’s name from the small, wormlike growths of quartz within the plagioclase crystal. -- source link
