Sorry we skipped Happy Hour last week, but I hope you all enjoyed the Valentine’s Day events in it’s place! But now we’re back, so pour yourself something yummy and get ready for Happy Hour!This week’s Happy Hour fic is The Notion of Attention by @the-starryknight (4,233 words, rated T)In the moments before Harry woke, Draco drifted through the little flat, puzzling over the little artifacts of Harry in every corner. Here are a few of the things that Draco learned: Harry lived alone. Harry was a good cook. He liked expensive coffee from that bodega on Horizont Alley and kept his flat perfectly clean. And he might be exclusively seeing Draco.Tomorrow’s a Saturday, so I’ll get to sleep in, but sadly due to being an adult who has a mostly functional sleep schedule, I’ll probably wake up at a disgustingly responsible time although I’m definitely going to stay in bed for a bit. There’s something wonderful about sipping coffee in bed - it’s warm and relaxing but still exciting because the day is fresh and full of hope. Coincidentally, “warm and relaxing, but fresh and full of hope” is also how I’d describe this fic. This fic did an excellent job of capturing the feeling at the beginning of a relationship - tentative, but hopeful. I loved seeing Draco play detective around Harry’s apartment, piecing together bits of the man who Harry has become and wondering if their broken pieces fit together to make something whole. It was a joy to see Harry’s life through Draco’s eyes, and the characterization of Draco was perfect.If you’re looking for something to start your weekend right, I can’t recommend this fic enough.
