apocalypticassass1n:STOP TREATING AUTISTIC CHILDREN LIKE CRIMINALS FOR BEING AUTISTICAs a person who is diagnosed with asperger’s syndrome, it breaks my heart whenever I see another story about an autistic child being treated like a monster because of something they should love about themselves.The boy on top is Kayleb Moon-Robinson, an 11 year old 6th grader. While having a meltdown when he was being yelled at by his teacher, he kicked over a trashcan. He did not punch another student or kick his teacher; he kicked over a garbage container that can easily be put back and have everything put back in. A police officer happened to see this, and charged him with disorderly conduct. He then had to wait a bit to leave class from then on. One day he decided to leave class with his classmates; in response, the principal sent a school cop after him to bring him to the office. What happened next, to quote him from his interview with the Center for Public Integrity, “I started pushing him away. He slammed me down, and then he handcuffed me.” This adult man slammed a 6th grader to the floor and arrested him. However, it was Kayleb who had been found guilty by a Lynchburg court of assault on a police officer and will carry that conviction with him for the rest of his life.
