I decided to draw Nikolai Lantzov as a follow up to Darkling.Yes, I know he looks older than his age in the books and that is on purpose since I, honestly, don’t really believe in most character’s stated ages int the series. Like I really feel that Kaz is in his late 20′s early 30′s and same with Nikolai..late very late 20-s the minimum. I wanted to design him to sort of integrate his corsair past into his royal persona. So the clothes are versatile. If he buttons up his jacket and wears the coat properly he would immediately transfor into a high rank officer smth….but wearing it all that way he looks more like a gentleman of the fortune. -- source link
