millerbenny-moved: PART THREE: BRIGHTNESS/CONTRASTthis is gonna be a short one! this layer is super straight forward, but i figured i’d still include it in this series since it’s a layer i rely on quite a bit when doing colorful gifsets.we’ll be taking this gif again: and turning it into this: with our brightness layer. (as you can tell, this only brightens and doesn’t color correct!)as always we have our two ways of adding the layer:orthis is what it looks like. super simple.and it does exactly what you’d think. the brightness slider makes it darker (left) or brighter (right) and the contrast slider changes, well, how much contrast you have in the image, so sliding it to the left makes the dark parts more grey and sliding it to the right makes the dark parts darker.brighter (slide brightness to the right):darker (slide brightness to the left):more grey (slide contrast to the left):more black/dark (slide contrast to the right):so to get the result shown above, all i did was this:now i use this layer mostly when i make vibrant gifs like this:i have two brightness layers, the first a setting of 40 brightness and the second a setting of 42 brightness. i add one, make some color adjustments, maybe add a vibrance layer, and then add the next brightness layer. without either my gif looks like this:and with just one it looks like this:i use the brightness layers to brighten the subject and lighten/brighten the color. this makes it look more vibrant! so that’s about it for this layer. as i said in the very beginning, it’s super simple. as always my other tutorials can be found here and if you have any questions, feel free to stop by my inbox and ask, follower or not xx -- source link
