allresources: Gif Text Effect Tutorial by Allresources This tutorial was requested by @luxurious86 and it will explain how to make the text effect shown in the gif above (the blue see through text). However, this tutorial will not explain how to make gifs.Software: PhotoshopDifficulty: Easy Once you created/opened your gif in photoshop, use the Text Tool to create a new text with whatever message you want it to say. Make sure the text colour is black. Next, select the Magic Wand Tool, make sure that you have your text layer selected, and click on any part of the gif but NOT on the text. This should give you something like this:This next step is only necessary if your text includes letters that have a space inside them (like e,a,b, etc.): At the topbar make sure that your Magic Want Tool setting is set to ‘Add to Selection’ and click on the space inside the letters. Now right click on the gif and select ‘Select and Mask…’ which will open the Select and Mask Tool. On the bottom click ‘Invert’ and then set ‘Shift Edges’ to something like -4%. Click OK. Your gif should look like this now:Now create a Gradient Map, next to your gradient map should be a black square with some white parts in it. Click the eye symbol next to your text layer which will make the text layer disappear and the see through layer appear.Change the gradient map colour to whatever colours you want. I would suggest to use a dark shade of a colour and a lighter shade of the same colour but that’s just personal preference. And now you’re basically done! I hope this tutorial was helpful !
