On the evening of August 31st, 1990, Adam Emery was at the Rocky Point restaurant with his wife, Elena, and another couple when his vehicle was clipped by a passing motorist. Enraged, Emery chased the driver and stabbed him repeatedly with a military knife. Further investigation later proved that the driver Emery intended to attack had gotten away, and he had actually murdered 21-year-old Jason Bass, who had nothing to do with the incident. Three years later, on November 10th, Emery was convicted of second-degree murder, later being released on bail until his impending trial. Just hours later, Emery and his wife were nowhere to be found. Witnesses claimed to have seen the couple in Cranston, Rhode Island, reportedly purchasing exercise equipment. It wasn’t long before police found the couple’s abandoned vehicle on the side of Claiborne Pell Newport bridge. In 1994, a skull identified as Elena’s was found in Narragansett Bay, and it is believed that Emery murdered her. Adam Emery was declared dead in 2004, though he remains on the FBI’s Most Wanted list. -- source link
