21 OTWOL; JaDineWhenever Oma’s here with us (she stays at least a month), we get pulled along into watching all the Primetime telenovelas (starting from after TV Patrol, until before Bandila) on ABS-CBN.She’s been here with us for a month, but I only started really (fully) watching the shows last week. The show that I’ve been, so to speak, hooked, was On the Wings of Love. It is a romantic comedy tv series, starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre in their first primetime television series. The series premiered on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel on August 10, 2015.The romantic comedy centers around two different people — Leah, a simple girl with an American dream; and Clark, a boy living his American life — who are forced to marry in order to legally stay and continue working in the United States.Today, I binge-watched/marathoned the first 21 episodes. The fact that I’m watching OTWOL AND shipping JaDine is kind of a big thing for me, because: I haven’t actively shipped any Filipino loveteam/pairing since Jericho Rosales & Kristine Hermosa in Pangako Sa ‘Yo, and John Lloyd Cruz & Bea Alonzo in their films. I also haven’t been a fan of Filipino tv shows also since Pangako Sa ‘Yo. (Frankly, I’m not a big fan of the Filipino tv/film industry in general, sorry.)The story itself really speaks to me. [Plus, I share the first name with the lead, Nadine’s character, Leah (although mine has no ‘h’).] I’ve only watched 21 full episodes, but I am already beginning to like it a lot, I am almost willing to give almost as much love as I give OUAT. Clark’s sweetness & kindness is reminding me to be more kind; Leah & Clark’s perseverance, strength, determination, hard work is pushing me to keep doing the same in my own life; Leah’s innate need to seek for answers, and her love for adventure, is something I can relate with - wanderlust.Clark & Leah’s relationship is a slow-burning romance. (Like Captain Swan’s!) I think JaDine appeals to me in the same way that Lloydie/Bea has that pull factor, and why I absolutely adore Captain Swan/Colifer = they’re not together in reality, but they have such great chemistry.Plus, it helps that BOTH halves of the pair are very good-looking. ;-) -- source link
