hellboundwitch:scarrisharris:So I’m caught up on my nano and the only way I even managed to do this was by making up a goofy spread to play with my tarot cards and hopefully inspire me to write. I call it the dungeon crawler spread, as I’m writing a high fantasy story. I bet that name’s been used before, but this is the very first spread I’ve made up myself, so I hope it’s not a huge deal.1. The Hero - or if you already have a character in mind, this can be your hero’s mindset at the time, I got the seven of swords, so I used a deceitful character of mine2. The Obstacle - Whatever your character has to face, be it in the grand picture or in the short-term. I got the nine of wands, so her obstacle was impatience.3. The Weapon or Tool or Key - The character’s passage through the obstacle, be it an obvious answer, like a literal sword or key, or something more subtle like love or endurance. I got the Lovers, so communication was the tool here.4. The Treasure or Outcome - I say both because it’s not always good! It’s whatever becomes of the hero’s journey through the obstacle, be it a literal reward or just the consequence of their actions. My card was the four of swords, so time to oneself for recovery was the outcome.5. The Monster - It’s guarding the treasure and it can be defeated, avoided, or your hero can succumb to it. I got the ten of swords for this one, so sorrow is the monster.6 . The Dungeon - How this all makes your character feel or the surroundings. I got the six of wands, so she feels rather triumphant about it. I hope that makes sense and I had a lot of fun using and making this spread. I doubt anyone else will use it but I’ll post it here for my own reference if nothing else. uvu;; *grabs like 16 different decks and gets to work* -- source link
