shiningbrightandspungold:[ID: A brightly-coloured digital art of Mei-Ling from the D.Gray-Man anime, in a group hug with several of her Pokemon. She’s drawn from the waist up. She’s in the center of the hug, leaning slightly backwards as if she’s a bit overbalanced, and is laughing happily (one eye shut as Caterpie snuggles her). Her Pokemon are all smiling too, in their own ways. The background is a plain bright blue. Mei-Ling is a young Chinese girl with very light brown skin, brown hair that goes just to her shoulders, and brown eyes. She’s wearing the Exorcist’s blue and silver uniform; hers is a long-sleeved jacket that goes to her waist. Underneath her jacket she’s wearing a light pink shirt and a rosary.Six Pokemon are in the hug with her. On her left, an Espeon who’s rubbing her cheek on Mei-Ling’s shoulder; a Sylveon behind her who’s happily looping one of his ribbons around her arm; a Swablu who’s perched on her head; a Slowbro on her right, who’s leaning into the hug with her paw on Mei-Ling’s back; a small Growlithe and Buneary in front of her, who’ve both pushed themselves into Mei-Ling’s arms; and a Caterpie who’s climbed up onto her shoulder and is nuzzling her face./End ID]From December 2018.  The prompt for this one was, naturally, “Your character with an animal or Pokemon”. I think this is what I’m most proud of from that year! The composition came out nicely, and even mostly like what I imagined when I started. It’s also the first / most noticeable example of me taking to heart what one of my friends said, which was that I used pastel a lot. Obviously she didn’t mean it as a bad thing but I was still like, “Welp only saturated colours from here on out unless it’s pastel / faded on purpose”. (I love you, Rose). -- source link
