sciencealert:This little peacock spider has only recently been given a scientific name: ‘Maratus sagittus’. ‘Sagittus’, which is Latin for 'arrow’, was picked because of an arrow-shaped marking on its abdomen. A paper to formally describe this species was just released last week! By the way, it’s also the Northern-most known occurring peacock spider in Australia!
