diaryofatransgenderwoman:I work at one of the largest publishing companies in the world, producing everything from news to fiction to education. As I have mentioned in the past, I volunteer with our North American Diversity and Inclusion team to create a better workplace and a more productive organization. We also want to make more diverse and inclusive products for our customers. To support this effort, we’re kicking off a partnership with We Need Diverse Books. We’re starting off with a photo campaign, but the ultimate goal is to influence those in the company that design and produce our content to think about how they can improve our products from the ground up to better represent the diversity of our customers. Everyone should be able to pick up our products and see themselves, their stories, their heritage, and their realities reflected in them.Back in March, when I attended our annual D&I summit, we all took photos for the campaign, which just launched today. Here is my contribution! When I say my family is diverse, I mean it. Collectively we contain mixed sexualities, mixed genders (including, obviously, transgender people), mixed race, and mixed ability. This campaign could not be more important to me and I look forward to bringing it into my local office in the coming months.Kaydee <3#WeNeedDiverseBooks -- source link
