The ruins of Corbridge (Coria/Corstopitum) Fort and later town. Roman, founded in c.84 and occupied into the 4thC or later. A new town was established approx. 1 mile away by the Saxons in the 7thC. The church there is built mostly from stone taken either from the abandoned roman town or from nearby Hadrian’s Wall. -- source link
