A Long Knife, late XVth century. Slender single-edged blade of spring steel with a false edge on the last 9 inches, with steel fittings, horn scales and silver pins and spacers.It’s quite the light one, weighing a mere 791 grams and an overall length of 714 mm for a 557 mm blade, but there’s a lot of presence and spirit in this thing !I drew inspiration from several German paintings of the 1480s, some of them kept in Cologne - the overall shape of one, the minute details of another…And it will get a proper scabbard with matching by-knives -- source link
