Ironicus means “ironical.”The name of Albireo’s artifact does not appear on the card, but it should be discussed. There appear to be two versions of its name. Many sources have one of the names as “To Fyuron To Biographicon,” but that is nothing but a half-translation. The Japanese script is ト・フュロン・ト・ビオグラフィコン, which represents the Greek phrase τὸ Φύλλον τὸ Βιογραφικόν, transliterated as to Phullon to Biographikon, meaning “The Biographical Sheet of Paper.” The Φύλλον literally means “leaf,” but it can refer to a sheet of paper, and the Βιογραφικόν is an adjective that means “biographical.” The other name is rendered in Japanese as ハイ・ビュブロイ・ハイ・ビオグラフィカイ, which represents αἱ Βύβλοι αἱ Βιογραφικαί, transliterated as hai Bubloi hai Biographikai, meaning “The Biographical Sheets of Paper.” The Βύβλοι refers to the parts of the papyrus plant that the Egyptians used to make their “books” (and so, “sheets of paper”) and their “books” themselves, and the Βιογραφικαί is just another form of the same adjective as Βιογραφικόν.
