blueelectricangels:star-anise:smartstudy:Hey guys. I’m glad to be finally posting my “mental breakdown survival guide”. As you know I struggle a lot with mental health, and so I have been through a lot of breakdowns. So many that I actually dropped out of university after 3 weeks in 2016 and had to take the whole year off. Because of this, I’ve made it my mission to help others with mental health issues as much as I can, so you don’t have to go through what I’ve been through.Anyway, here is my guide. I tried to keep it general, and actually useful. If you have any questions or additions please feel free to add them. And as ever, if you want to talk to me about studying with mental illness or want to see a post on a specific topic, please feel free to message me. @smartstudy, this is a really great resource! Is there a transcribed version of it for people who use screen readers?Speaking as a university instructor: I can’t emphasize enough how much you need to contact your teachers. All your teachers - including lecture and lab, if you have separate instructors for those components. I am 100% aware that it’s the last thing you want to do, hell, it is (and was) the absolute last thing I want to do when I’m in a bad patch. But the amount of leeway I as an instructor have to help you out shrinks the longer I don’t hear from you, because you start to run afoul of things - late assignment policies, attendance policies, materials availability, add/drop deadlines, tuition reimbursement deadlines - that I don’t have any say in.(Also, @smartstudy, if you don’t have a transcribed version I’d be happy to do one for you) -- source link
