I’ve been in El Nido for a week now and my stay has been filled with many new experiences. Also I’m few shades darker and forever covered in superfine white sand. When in El Nido the most popular thing to do is “island-hopping”. There’s a whole system for it worked out in the town. You can choose Tour A, B, C, or D from any tour agent and get exact same thing for the same price. They all cost 700 Php, follow the same established routes, include BBQ lunch on the beach, snorkel gear, and a guide. My group booked with the hotel/restaurant The Alternative and we really lucked out with our guide Larry. He’s been so awesome and attentive we ended up doing Tour C and Tour A with him (we did A twice!). Super awesome chill adventures on the sea. Saw tons of beaches, islands, lagoons, dolphins, sea turtles, many tropical fish and reefs, ate along many yummy things a squid prepared in its own ink, and overall had a jolly good time! I’ve been a real beach bum camping in my sweet REI hammock (with built in mosquito net!!!) whole enjoying full moon and swaying palm trees, spending the whole days wearing just my swimsuit, eating mangos with my toes in the sand. Awesome! The local people here are fantastic! So friendly, honest, hospitable, and they really make this already beautiful place even better! Filipinos definitely have a special place in my heart :-) -- source link
