Kenny saved the bullet for Ben instead of using it on himself. Through the game, we see Kenny as this kind of character where he does things for himself or saves his own ass before anyone elses (besides his family) and I think that last bit where he comes in and kills Ben before the walkers get to him then gets eaten in return was just really was touching somehow? It changed him, I think. He didn’t just ditch him and let him be torn to shreds.
