Characters who have won you over for the #circleofbookishfriends I’ve read the Princess Bride a lot of times and I’ve seen the movie more times than that!⚔️Buttercup is a character I didn’t like in the book but she’s more likable in the movie, but not by much. My freshman year in high school I chose a monologue that Buttercup has in the book to perform as an audition piece.I got the part! You can see the monologue on Goodreads. I love the opening line:“I love you, Buttercup said. "I know this must come as a surprise to you since all I’ve ever done is scorn you and degrade you and taunt you but I have loved you for several hours now and every second…more.”She has some great character development in the book and talks so much more–great lines. In fact, I think the movie changed Buttercup and her story the most which would be disappointing if I didn’t love the movie so much. Prince Humperdinck is more of a character as well.Overall, if you’ve seen the movie and haven’t read the book, you should read it. It’s different in a good way.⚔️#theprincessbride #williamgoldman #bookishquote #asyouwish #favoritebook #funnybook #flatlay #flatlaystyle #bookstagram #bibliophile #swordfight -- source link
