msbaylock:Anencephaly!!!!!!!!! This is a condition where a large portion or your brain, skull, and/or scalp are not present. This is a neural tube defect. This condition is caused when the neural tubes do not close;is it unknown why exactly this happens but the lack of folic acid during pregnancy is a possibility. This is why physicians put so much emphasis on expecting mothers to take their prenatal vitamins: although prenatals do not guarantee babies will be born without defects, but it can help to prevent them. It is said that these babies are deaf, blind, and unable to feel pain. It is also said that many of the babies with this birth defect only live up to a few hours after birth.
