PanasqueiraiteOnly found at a single location on the planet so far (the Panasqueira tin-tungsten Mine in Portugal after which it is named) this mineral is an extremely rare thing to find for your collection, though much of the material labelled as such is a more common similar mineral called Isokite. Even within the deposit it only occurs in a very specific geological environment called a selvage, a zone of mixing at the edge of a vein where the chemistries of different rocks interact. Chemically it is a calcium/magnesium phosphate which formed as the phosphorous was remobilised in the veins. Colour varies from whit to pink and the hardness is 5 on Mohs scale. The massive specimen on quartz in the photo measures 8.8 x 3.0 x 3.0 cmLozImage credit: Rob Lavinsky/iRocks.comhttps://www.mindat.org/min-3073.htmlhttp://bit.ly/2BoIVrvhttp://bit.ly/2zFKMej -- source link
