Inktober - One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi For the longest time now I’ve been thinking about illustrating some of the plants mentioned in Harry Potter. Inktober seems like the right time to do that.  So for the month of October, I’ll be creating scientific illustrations of the plants encountered in the Harry Potter series of books. I know some of these aren’t herbs or fungi, but that is the textbook that seems to fit best, so I’m just going with that.  There’ll all micron pens and those pentel watery brush pens. I’ve not used ink in forever, so this has been pretty challenging so far. Some touch up in photoshop afterwards as well. Mostly adjustments to values and adding that aged texture. Also I’m attempting to create them somewhat chronologically based on when they’re first mentioned in the books. ..though that might not always work out. For these, Asphodel and Monkshood/Wolfsbane are mentioned by Snape in the first potions class. Dittany and Devil’s snare are mentioned in the first herbology class, and then Devil’s Snare comes up again at the end. I am… the world’s biggest dork. OH WELL DEAL WITH IT.  -- source link
