━ episode 4 ; july 18th, 2019  • #5047THE INTERVIEWmentioned : @rkpwj, @rkyq, @jacksxnrk, @rksuwoong, @rkkyul, @rkyuri, @rkchaeryeong, @rkxminkyung, @junheerk, @danielxrk, @hyojinrk, @rkkenta, @rksakura, @rkbclla & @rkpjyonce again, interviews come around. xuxi had been enjoying watching the performances, as usual - it was much easier to remember them all now, seeing as there were a lot less, and he’d become somewhat familiar with many of the faces. he was able to pay more attention this time to each and every performance, so he knew he was ready to answer questions when the time came. he does the same walk to the room where the interviews happen, and goes through the whole makeup touch-up, having his usual friendly chatter with the makeup artist, before the interview woman with her clipboard stands beside the camera as usual. “ready?” she asks as usual, and xuxi nods, turning a little in his chair to face her better. “so, what did you think of last weeks results?”start off the same as usual, which he’s thankful for, since this time he got more to say. “i was surprised, to be honest. YUQI was doing so well, she went from top three to being eliminated! that’s insane! it doesn’t make sense to me, i think they made a big mistake, and not just because she’s my friend, but because what kind of nonsense is this?! from top 3, to elimination? you’ve gotta be kidding me. JACKSON too, he’s really good, yet he got eliminated too. i have no idea what goes through the judges minds anymore. i thought i had a grasp on how things worked, but after last week i feel like it’s almost picked out of a hat randomly!” “and, what was it like working with WOOJIN this time around?”“at first it was… not difficult but definitely different to last week, since suwoong is so loud, and woojin is a lot quieter. last week suwoong filled all the silence with chatter, and this week i had to sort of step up and do that myself, since woojin’s less talkative. that was fine though, he’s a nice guy and i think we got along well together. he’s an amazing dancer, so it was really nice to work with him and pick his brains a little too. i think i learnt quiet a lot from him.” “where there any performances in particular that you liked?”“i sound like a broken record, but SUWOONG and JIEQIONG. did you notice we just switched partners this week? i thought that was kinda funny. but yeah it’s like my two favourite performers together on one stage - it was super cool to watch, though i felt somewhat betrayed by my last-week-boyfriend suwoong.” he jokes with a dramatically sad face, but then bursts into laughter. “but i thought YURI and CHAERYEONG were good, and MINKYUNG and JUNHEE too!” “what did you think of DANIEL and HYOJIN’s performance?”“i think i liked it a lot better than i liked previous performances of daniel’s. hyojin i’ve always thought was good, so i wasn’t sure whether i liked it because hyojin added something and what i liked was whatever he added, or if daniel was sort of… stepping out of his comfort zone and showing something a bit different? i’m not sure, but i definitely didn’t dislike it. it wasn’t my favourite, but they can’t all be, can they?” “which duo do you think complimented each other the most?” he thinks for a moment, having to really sift through his memory of the performances to scrutinise them all to find a proper answer that isn’t just suwoong and jieqiong again. “hmmm… i think KENTA and SAKURA, and not just because they’re both japanese! they have a similar energy, i think… maybe that’s just me, but i think they looked good together.”“who from those eliminated in last week’s episode do you think will be brought back?”“that’s a hard one… i think from personal preference my favourite style was YUQI and YOONA this week, but i definitely see that JACKSON and JINYOUNG were really strong together. i feel like the judges might pick jackson and jinyoung, because i think jackson can really hold his own, and that eliminating him was a mistake. he seems to have a lot of potential.”“thank you, that’s all for today.” and so the interview ends. xuxi thinks he’s become a little harsher with his answers - when he first answered questions he was scared of hurting peoples feelings, and felt he had to back up his friends, but now he realises this isn’t about friendship, or being nice. it’s about skills, and hard work, and giving credit where credit is due. he feels like, although sometimes truthful in a slightly negative way, it’s for a reason, he’s telling the truth, giving his opinion (respectfully) and praising those he thinks deserve praise. so, he makes his way back to his seat feeling a little more worn down that previous interviews have left him, and his hands come to clasp in his lap as he waits quietly for the results, though he does try and shoot woojin a smile, silently reassuring him that they did well. -- source link
