━ episode 5 ; july 25h, 2019  • #5047THE INTERVIEWmentioned : @rkyq, @jacksxnrk, @rkpjy, @junheerk, @rkxminkyung, @rkxsungwoon, @rkkhg, @rkseunghun, @rksihyeon, @rksuwoong, @rkjaemin, @ryujinrk, @rkmason, @rkheejin, @rkkyul, @rkchaeryeong, @rknak, @rkpwj, @ericxrk, @hyojinrk, @rktaeyang, @danielxrk & @rkyejithe performances are over, and xuxi’s in awe of how good everyone was. it seems as though, as the weeks go on, everything seems to get harder and harder, in a sense of everyone’s better and better. it’s daunting, since xuxi doesn’t know where he stands among them. even so, things go on as usual and soon he’s being ushered into a new room where a makeup artist and the interview lady wait. after the usual touch-up and casual chit-chat with the makeup artist, xuxi relaxes and turns to the interviewer with a smile. this is routine, usual, a nice constant he can be sure will be the same sort of thing each week. he supposes it’s also good practise for the people who aren’t used to interviews and may have to do them in the future if they get signed and eventually debut. one he gives a nod that he’s ready the interview begins. “so, what did you think of last week’s results?” xuxi hums softly, “well… i was really disappointed that YUQI didn’t make it, but JACKSON and JINYOUNG were really impressive, so i’m glad they made it through. also, JUNHEE and MINKYUNG not making it was a really bad surprise. of course… i’m not really surprised about EUNJI and SUNGWOON but i felt really bad for them. it was a genuine mistake but it cost them so much. i think i’d have thrown up if that were me.”“and, how was it working with your trio?”“it was great!” xuxi responds, immediately brightening up after the negative feelings the last question brought up to the surface. “i already sort of knew yuri since she’s a friend of a friend, but i’d never even said a single word to sakura before, so it was really nice getting to work with new people. plus, i hadn’t got to perform with any of the girls yet so it was nice to see how they work behind the scenes! we got along really well, or at least i think we did.”“did practising in trc’s practise room make a difference?”“definitely.” he responds instantly with a single nod, expression pretty serious, but then it softens and he shifts in his seat. “it made it feel a lot more real, and almost like… a taste of what could be, y’know? it made me want it even more, if it’s even possible to want it more. being in the building of the company i’m aiming for… it felt like i was within grasping distance, and it just made it all the more clear how awful it would feel if i didn’t make it.”“and, did the trio sharing the room with you ever get in the way of your practising?”“no, not at all! we all got along really well! we even played a game together one evening. it felt like we were a big group of friends. kind of makes me realise now that i’d feel even worse if one of them got eliminated than from another group i think.”“how do you think you did?”“honestly, though i would say i’m not sure, i’m pretty sure we as a trio did well. i’d like to think i did well, and as usual i put my all into it, made sure to not just sing and dance, but also perform. no performance if good if it’s not entertaining, and it can’t be entertaining if you just soullessly move to the music and sing like you’re simply reading from a sheet of paper. it takes a lot of effort, energy and heart to really put on a show. that was really important when i was a figure skater, and i’d wager it’s even more important here.”“were there any performances you liked in particular?” “obviously HYUNGGU, SEUNGHUN and SIA’s performance was amazing, but i appreciated it a bit more maybe because i saw what went into it throughout the week.” he thinks back to them in the practise room at either side of the room, working hard, but taking breaks together and mingling. he thinks back to the time he went and got them all drinks from starbucks as well, smiling to himself at the memory of everyone bonding over food and drinks and games. “i was impressed by SUWOONG, JAEMIN and RYUJIN’s performance too. they’re all so good at what they do and they seemed to work well together. i’m really proud of jaemin as well, since i’ve known him so long, it’s nice to see how much he cares about this, and how much he puts into it.”“and, what did you think of MINHO, HEEJIN and JIEQIONG’s performance?”“as expected, they were really good. honestly, is it even surprising though when they have a former idol? heejin and jieqiong are so talented, but it’s a shame that minho sort of overshadows them, not with skill exactly since they’re all good, but in the sense that everyone knows him, knows that he was an idol before, that he’s got so much more experience than everybody else. i guess they’ll be safe though, since they have him. there’s no way they’d eliminate or even put him in the bottom five.”“what trio do you think complimented each other the most?”“either CHAERYEONG, NAKYUNG and WOOJIN, or YOUNGJAE, HYOJIN and TAEYANG. they all seemed to balance each other out quiet well and seemed to make pretty cohesive trios. i enjoyed their performances a lot, and i think part of that is thanks to how well they meshed together.”“lastly, is there anyone you’re certain will move onto the next stage?”“as i said before, it’s sort of a given that MINHO’s trio will move on, and probably DANIEL, YEJI and JINYOUNG. yeji is already known to be really good, and seems pretty popular, and of course daniel, well, everyone knows daniel. he or minho are likely to win this thing. they’re talented of course, but it does help to have popularity and recognition.”“thank you, that’s all.”another interview over, and xuxi’s shoulders slump as he relaxes, making his way slowly back to his seat beside yuri and sakura. all there is to do now is to wait for whatever the judges decide.   -- source link
