Procession of All SaintsIn Poland, it’s an event held in the eve of or around the Feast of All Saints, November 1st. People, notably kids dressed as various saints, gather up at church and then march around the town with lights and songs. It might involve presentations or performances about life of saints, prayers and Holy Mass. Often, this is also an opportunity to celebrate relics of saints, normaly scattered in different parishes in town, for this event are brought in to one place. Sometimes there’s also ball or some sort of a dress party for kids held afterwards, with games and sweets. This is a newly developed trend - in last few years processions were organized in many cities across Poland, and number of them keeps growing up. Main idea is to promote sainthood and accentuate the Feast of All Saints with some joy and festivity, because in Poland it gets overshadowed by the All Souls Day (Zaduszki), Dziady, or from another side Halloween, which is foreign trend too.
