Escutcheon Over Doorway With the Coat of Arms of Peterhouse, Cambridge, A Building in Cambridge
Escutcheon Over Doorway With the Coat of Arms of Peterhouse, Cambridge, A Building in Cambridge Occupied by London School of Economics During WWII, 2010.There is a plaque on the building stating that it was occupied by LSE 1939-1945 “by invitation of the Master and Fellows of Peterhouse,” the oldest Cambridge college. Apparently faculty and students were moved from LSE’s vulnerable facilities near Trafalgar Square in heavily bombed central London to the presumably safer confines of Cambridge for the duration of the war. -- source link
