For the galaxy, it makes him a hero. For Kaidan, it usually means a bare ass and an AWOL pillow.Instead of waging war to win back what’s rightfully his, he simply scootches closer until Shepard is flush against him, then threads an arm around his chest and revels in the warmth of his skin. Kaidan presses his nose against Shepard’s neck and breathes him in, the Savior of the Galaxy, the phoenix burning with so much life, just a quiet ember tucked against him. The quiet is short-lived. Shepard stirs, tension tightening his shoulders, legs thrashing against the already-vanquished sheet. “It’s all right,” Kaidan murmurs, and lets his corona kindle until it forms a soft glow in the dark. The gentle thrum of biotic energy hums under his skin, drawing a soft sigh of contentment from Shepard’s throat. He releases the sheets to trap Kaidan’s arm against him, shoulders loosening.A smile curves Kaidan’s lips. “I’ve got you,” he whispers, pressing a kiss to Shepard’s shoulder. “I know,” Shepard whispers back, and burrows deeper against him. -- source link
