gaaraofsburbia:gaaraofsburbia:gaaraofsburbia:gaaraofsburbia:THAT 100% HAS TO BE PINK DIAMOND THAT ROSE IS FIGHTINGTHEY ARE 100% FIGHTING IN THE BETA KINDERGARTEN THERE OH MY GODEDIT: That is completely the bubbling room in the temple above them.Rose bubbled Pink Diamond oh my god.IS THIS PINK DIAMOND’S BUBBLE?????Left: White Diamond finishing the Cluster?Right: Yellow Diamond dropping the corruption nuke?Where’s Blue Diamond, you ask? If AJ Universe is right, she was in charge of buildings and culture - she likely had no use in wartime, and would’ve instead helped keep order back on Homeworld during the war.Okay so I messed up two hours ago, by responding to another comment in a way that left important further points I made out of the main reblog chain, so I’m gonna do it here. Firstly, I hadn’t seen the leak for tomorrow’s episode when I doubted PD’s gem placement, but it’s cool to hear how it worked out! My friend @tflatte pointed out some good reasoning -and honestly, relating back to the above linked video, it makes sense. The leader, forehead gem, at the top. Military, culture, structure, all comprising the middle, the “substance”, of society. And finally we have Pink Diamond, stomach gem, in charge of the literal propogation of her species, forming the support at the bottom, like grains on the old food pyramid. But now she’s gone, and like Peridot said - resources on Homeworld are dwindling. Resources are, of course, finite, but it’s very possible PD was more efficient with the process, and they’d probably be in a less strained place right now. Moving on to other replies! This thread is a great read - @deliverusfromsburb and @zenosanalytic always have useful and thoughtful input. The thing I want to focus on before diving into this is to emphasize that I agree with @abstrusetheorist’s last comment - it’s certainly true that tyrannical regimes make Leaders (especially murdered Leaders) into martyrs, but the touch of subtlety about claiming you’re all-powerful, and having that proven otherwise, might be enough to tip the scale to erasure instead.Zeno, regarding your input, these are all good ideas! I literally would’ve never would’ve thought of them sending a fake Diamond as a decoy just so they could drop the nuke, but it’s certainly a possibility - the lack of a White Diamond at home might further explain their strained, unstable state, but why isn’t she removed too? It’s still certainly ambiguous, though. Because with WD, they may well have actually pushed a martyr narrative saying she took the rebels down with her by like, dropping the Shatterstar on herself. Going down with the ship, so to speak. I’m not sure….In any case, I’m reasonably convinced now that A. Rose is actually holding Pink Diamond, already poofed and B., while originally I thought it might’ve been Blue Diamond based on colors, Rose is probably facing against WD, or a WD decoy. Either way, that would explain why the war ended there. I’m not sure what to say about the figures, but whether the visuals support it or not, the history we’ve heard seems to support that Homeworld’s last stand took place at the Beta kindergarten. Hell, ignore the figures - the crystals coming out of the ground might be imagery enough. It’s interesting that you say PD may have been corrupted, because I was tossing around the idea that Lion is a corrupted PD, possibly with the gem hidden under the mane. Gem placement may prove a problem there, but like… what other corrupted gems have we seen as lions? Lion seems special. It’s a stretch, but if this turns out to be true, it could lend the conclusion of the series to be a corruption-healed PD confronting her Diamond alloys allies once more, with a lot of heartfelt words, rather than primarily a battle royale.Moving forward, @punchline-talkin said “i believe we’ve seen her statue in the arena” - maybe! Maybe like, the broken one, but I don’t think any of the ones we see besides the obvious YD really tell us much about Diamonds at all. Like I pointed out as part of this old post, I don’t think the four Sky Arena statues we see, including the broken legs-only one, are the Diamonds - because it doesn’t look like the arena was circular! Rather, I think it’s oblong like a track field, and really what we’re seeing is YD and the broken one next to her as two of the four diamonds, starting a row that we can’t see the rest of, and possibly across from each Diamond is their second-in-command. Again, we only see two of them there. Yellow Diamond’s, and probably White Diamond’s, given the forehead gem? But four statues are gone entirely. We don’t have as much information as you’d think.Lastly, @d-alpha said “it looks like she’s using PD gem to fight WD” This doesn’t have much premise (example of happening before, what’s the word??), but I can’t deny it certainly looks like that, along with WD having 11 floating Gems herself. I’m not sure what to make of that, but it’s concerning if it’s accurate. -- source link
