Totally fine with the idea that Bressie sat on his couch and watched the cutest lil fratty caddy on the PLANET hook a golf ball into another dimension and then FALL OVER BECAUSE HIS BAG WAS TOO HEAVY, SWEET JESUS LORD GOD!!!!!!!! LISTEN. This is fine, to think of Saint Bressie of the Anxieties watching his little buddy Niall Horan visibly shaking on tv but then, with the poise Bressie can only dream of having had at his age, just ACCEPTING HIS OWN NERVOUSNESS and LIVING THROUGH IT and dispelling any possible awkwardness by being superbly charming and sweet. Maybe even as he doinked that ball off into Canada Bressie may have said aloud to the TV, “Ahhh, Chief,” laughing low and rueful, sliding down a little on the sofa, covering his face with his massive hand. It is totally fine and not hellfire at all for me to imagine how NERVOUS FOR HIM AND PROUD OF HIM AND HALF-CONSCIOUSLY JEALOUS OF EVERYONE WHO’S AROUND HIM Niall “Everyone In London Thinks I’m His Bodyguard” Breslin could, hypothetically, have been during this ordeal. Related, it is totally not a problem for me to imagine a country club in Atlanta, Niall’s face lighting up when he sees the name on his phone, ducking out of a convo to pick up this call, Bressie’s voice rumbling out all amused: “How’s the leg, big man? Saw you take a little, uh, spill there –”  “Yeah, yeah, yeah,” Niall says rolling his eyes, “go on with you.” His heart flipping a little at the thought that BRESSIE WATCHED. “Seriously, you all right?” Bressie says. “Yeah, better than,” Niall says. “Knew you would be, chief,” Bressie says. HIS VOICE IS ALL GENTLE AND WARM AND NIALL CAN HEAR THE SMILE IN IT PROBABLY. Rory pops out onto the porch and asks with big charades gestures whether Niall wants another beer and Niall gives him a thumbs up, part of him wishing that Bressie could be here to see how much Rory likes him, how much everyone here likes him.
