Zexal Month Week 3: Stranded in a Brave New WorldThe week in Heartland passes by in a blur. One moment you were playing duel volleyball with Kotori and Gilag, the next you were having dinner at the Tsukumos’. Oh, and you almost forgot about the exclusive backstage tour with IV. Did I forget to mention you almost ran Ryoga’s motorbike into the sea? He flooded our Yelp! page with furious reviews under extremely obvious pseudonyms. Regardless, your brief time in Heartland has come to an end. As promised on the ticket, the next week will be spent in Astral World and Barian World! A guaranteed chance to meet aliens? That was something the Area 51 raid failed to deliver so you’re also a bit skeptical about this promise. But with Shark breathing down your neck and muttering something about retribution, you think it’s best to go on your way. With unexpected grace, the captains drift off into the intradimensional highway, a network of tunnels filled with swirling colors. It would be a pretty fun place to have a disco party, you think. You look out the windows with awe until the lights flicker and the engine sputters.  “Aw, nuggets,” mutters one of the captains on the loudspeaker. “An interdimensional meatball must’ve gotten in one of the engines.” The world turns black, followed by a loud crash. When you wake up again, nothing but a red and blue wasteland spreads out before you. The captains are hurriedly gathering their passengers, relief filling their faces when they find that you’re safe. “I’m sorry folks, but it will take us…awhile to fix the engines,” explains one of the captains nervously. “For now, how about we sing a few songs?” Someone in the crowd awkwardly coughs. The other captain gives you a pleading smile as they break into song. From somewhere, they found a horridly tuned ukulele and you grit your teeth. It only had two strings. “99 Numbers floating around in the world, 99 Numbers floating around…you take one down, you pass it to Astral and then there’s 98 Numbers floating around in the world…” You at once want to both scream and punch the captain to the ground. ———Week 3: Stranded in a Brave New World PromptsDay 1: 16th of AugustWhere did they come from?
