Visiting the Palace Museum, a.k.a. the Forbidden City, in Beijing in 1997, as a baby 26-year-old. Once the nerve center of dynastic China, the complex covers 72 hectares and consists of 980 buildings and 8,700 rooms, built in the early 1400s, now containing some 350,000 ceramics, 150,000 jade pieces, 130,000 textile embroideries, 100,000 paintings, and 20,000 sculptures. You could say it’s a lot to try to take in. -- source link
