Patrick Chan is a twenty five year old character in Make Your Mark Roleplay, a literate group. He looks very similar to Godfrey Gao and is OPEN. Name: Patrick Chan Nicknames: Pat, used to be bullied and called “Patty” Age: Twenty Five Date of Birth: March 30th (Aries) Location of Birth: New Taipei, Taiwan Gender Identity: Male Orientation: Bisexual Occupation: Economics professor at NYU Education: Doctorate degree in Economics Identifying marks/tattoos: Koi fish tattooed on left shoulder Piercings: None Resides In: Manhattan, New York Neighborhood: Chelsea Headcanon #1: Patrick has developed a drinking habit since moving to New York. Although he never drank (or partied) throughout high school or college, he’s picked it up since graduating. It’s something to keep the time going, and he often drinks every single night while grading papers. When he gets drunk, Patrick has a violent streak. He’ll grade papers very harshly after having a few drinks, causing most of students to flunk. Headcanon #2: Up to roleplayer! Although Patrick was born in Taiwan, he never really got a chance to see the city. Him and his family migrated to America when Patrick was just four years old, and they started a new life in Newport Beach, California. Patrick remembers his childhood as a great time in his life: he had no major problems, did well in school, and for the most part, got along with his parents. He was a good kid and always did the right thing. Throughout school, Patrick was involved in many clubs and activities, including Martial Arts. He had gotten a black belt by the time that he was in seventh grade, and proceeded to learn multiple instruments and excel in math classes. All of his teachers could tell that he was going far in life– not only was he wildly intelligent, he also had a sharp with and a friendly personality. His parents were proud to call him their son, especially as his grades reached the 4.0 mark and he was awarded a scholarship. By the time that Patrick graduated from high school, every college, including Ivy League, were knocking at his door. There were offers all over the country, and Patrick had his choice. His parents told him that no matter they would support him, he just had to make a decision. The summer after graduation, Patrick moved to New York City. He lived outside of the city, in a large apartment in Queens with two roommates. In college, Patrick succeeded in everything that he did. Similarly to high school, he was involved in an absurd amount of activities, made excellent marks, and impressed his teachers. Patrick was even able to take on larger course loads, and finished his degree two years early. Immediately, Patrick was hired as a stock broker on Wall Street. He had a degree in economics, and watched the stocks with everything that he had. Eventually, Patrick got so good at this that he was able to play the market in his favorite. He would study it for weeks before investing, and then pull out his shares at just the perfect time. Patrick accumulated a large fortune from working in the stock market, and was able to continue his education with all of the money that he earned. After completing his masters and doctors degree, Patrick decided to do something else with his time. He’s gotten out of the stock market scene, and has moved on to teaching. Patrick has always loved school, so when he was offered the job as a professor, he took it without looking back. While he enjoyed stocks, it wasn’t something that he needed to do anymore. Truthfully, he was capable of living for the rest of his life without ever working again. That made no difference to him though, as Patrick loves to keep busy and isn’t comfortable unless he’s accomplishing something. However, there’s one problem. Although Patrick’s a particularly good teacher, he isn’t very good with young people. He’s only twenty-five, but Patrick’s lived the life of two men. He’s got an old soul, and doesn’t relate well with immature college students. Patrick is sarcastic sometimes, and can come across as a bit of a jerk. While lecturing, he’s always making some quip or remark towards a student. Nothing sneaks past him, and he’s always got a comeback for anything you throw at him. Not easily impressed, Patrick is a harsh grader and looks down upon his less-than-astute students. Not many people around campus like him, but the ones that do, can’t get enough of him. Patrick is the type of guy that you either love or hate, but either way, it doesn’t make a single difference to him. Positive Character Traits: Brilliant, book-smart, clever, impressive, bright, educated, self sufficient. Negative Character Traits: Narcissistic, arrogant, quick to judge, harsh, critical, cocky, rude, sarcastic. -- source link
