With the stigma his kind still have in mewni he feels the need to keep it under wraps, despite the fact that it limits his fighting abilities. Only a handful of people have seen him in his true form, and he will do almost anything to avoid changing into it. His strength isn’t the only thing that changes when he transforms however.
