Short story month is coming to a close, but we wanted to feature one more author, Washington Irving. Though he was an accomplished historian, he is often best remembered for his short stories, such as “Rip Van Winkle” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” By penning many classic works of the early American canon, he became one of America’s first internationally best-selling authors.
