Holiday Tinkerbell : jabberbird I was surprised by how many people wanted to take pictures of/with me. I didn’t think Tink would suit me very well at first, but I felt more confident as her as soon as I stepped into the convention. Kids were also excited when they saw me so that made it even more magical. I wanted to cosplay more Disney characters! And to try to cosplay a little outside of my comfort zone. So while I was thinking of my lineup for Holmat, I immediately thought of Tinker Bell in her holiday attire! I mostly used what I had in my closet: I traced a bodycon dress onto some red fabric I already had. The red flats were from Walmart and I hand sewed the white trim onto the dress and puffs at the ends of her shoes. The wig which I styled was from Epic Cosplay Wigs and I already owned some fairy wings, so it wasn’t a costly cosplay for me to make. I love getting to become a different character whenever I want. It’s an interesting confidence booster, probably because I get to try out different makeup, clothes, and hair styles. Cosplay is what helped me break out of my comfort zone over the years, like whenever I make or buy a new cosplay I get so excited to show it to everyone. And that excitement drives me to improve them, to learn new skills, to share what I learned, and to meet people. The joy I feel from it, from going to cons, from seeing my friends and supporting them is what keeps excited and inspired.The community, it feels like there’s more time and things to do with my friends. Holmat is usually the last con of the year so it feels like a wonderful way to close the year with the cosplay community. I always meet new people at Holmat and have definitely made more friends because of it! I’m probably being sappy because I’m going to miss it so much this year, but I’m eagerly waiting for a safe, incredible reunion with everyone!https://linktr.ee/jabberbird -- source link
