“Why do you have to argue with everything I say?!” you roared at the archer. He only glared back at you through narrowed and sharp blue eyes.“You can be so damn irritating sometimes!” You stared back at him, your arms crossed over your chest and your stance rigid. “I already told you that I’m not sitting this one out. I have just as much a right as you do to go on this run!”Daryl pulled his bottom lip in between his teeth and let out an exhale that was more of a growl than anything. “Nah. Ya should stay here,” he said sternly. “Why?! You think I’m gonna fuck it up for everyone? Do you really have that little faith in my abilities? For fucksake, Daryl, I’ve spent as much time outside the prison as you have!”He was silent but you watched as he suddenly shifted uncomfortably. “What?!” you demanded.“It ain’t that,” he said, the sharp edge to his voice slightly dulled now. “It ain’t that I think ya are gonna fuck it up.”One of your eyebrows drew down low in confusion. “Then what?”Daryl stared at the way your body was squared toward him. He knew why he didn’t want you going on the run, but it wasn’t fair for him to try and make you stay. He had no claim to you… and he was still too afraid of telling you the real reason—that the thought of something bad happening to you was enough to terrify him so much he would freeze up at the thought. The archer avoided your gaze and sighed again. “Fine,” he said. And that was it. He left you behind, completely bewildered and puzzled, as his long strides carried him back up to his space to worry.Prompt: “You can be so irritating sometimes!” -- source link
